More final project images.

We have until June 1st to complete all works and students are focused on completing final pieces, the progression of works can be seen below;

Student adding dyes to a nearly complete piece.

Sawdust is being used to create a textured surface. Natural forms are being used as inspiration.

This is one of the year 11 pupils working on her A/S level exam.

One of the pupils has been experimenting with dying materials for his final piece.

Photography using light drawings. These have been printed out and mounted on card.

Photography light drawings. At the beginning of the residency I spoke about how within my sculptures I draw and paint with materials. So pupils applied this to photography.

A final sculpture being completed.

Some pupils have been experimenting with mod roc to create a hard surface on the baskets.

Natural forms have been observed and the coil shape above has been created using art straws

Some pupils are using everyday materials and natural forms and applying them to portraiture.

This pupil has printed out all of her photographs and created a collage on board.

Above shows a different approach, lots of layering has been used. The piece has been
covered with wax and it creates an interesting surface.

Close up of various materials such as bottle tops and screws.

Another close up showing a glimpse of bright colour.

Wax melted over plastic bags.

Bright Collage using straws, glue and wool.

This is an image that has been scanned in,
pupils images are then added to create colour.

Pupil is manipulating drawing on Photoshop.

Another pupil is manipulating his image on Photoshop and using textured images that he
has photographed.

This pupil is working on an ambitious piece. It is a large scale version of his test piece. He is one of the only year ten's to opt for the tube rather than the half sphere shape.

Pupils sample piece that will go on her final sculpture.

Lucy has used everyday materials such as newspapers, sequins and nail-varnish to recreate Jessie J's face.

Georgia created this piece as homework. She used art-straws to add natural forms.

Ellie is working on a series of boards that will be created in various colours.
She is experimenting using paint and PVA to cover the brown of the card.

Liz is using a unique approach. She cuts writing out of gossip magazines, sticks them on card and then covers the basket.

Chelsea's final piece.

Close up of the purple area.

Chelsea's final piece nearly finished! She may add some bits of material underneath the piece so that when it is hung up it looks like a sea creature.
